Help a beginner

I would really like to make an 8mm short movie. I have an apple computer and have lots of knowledge in editing digitally. I know I need to send my film to get it developed and then transfered to digital video with a telecine machine, but that is it. Any information you guys can give in that area would be most appreciated.
I am also clueless in the sound area. My idea is to record sound with my digital camera while filming. It seems the easiest to put on my apple. Are there any sound recorders that I could use?

hi

here is a link to a good site to introduce you to 8mm film

http://homepage.mac.com/onsuper8/

you could use a video camera to record the sound and synch it up later - but I personally would prefer to use a minidisc or a DAT recorder

Who is the owner of that site? I've never seen it before.
It's by far one of the best guides to super 8 on the web that I've ver seen.
Greetings to that webmaster, he has done something truly great.
