It's the best deal after pre-paid k40 mailers, which also get outlabed to Dwayne's here in the US.

Do you know what they did before 1996 Billbot? I was under the impression that Wal-Mart has done Kodachrome processing for a lot longer than that. What did they do with K-14 film before 1996?

Regards.

The irony is nologo.org is run by a Canadian....not that there is anything wrong with that.

If you all recall, there was a huge "unbrand america" ad in the NY Times late last year. The ad showed a big american flag with all the stars replaced by brand logos...very cool. But the real irony? Again, another Canadian outfit, this time in Vancouver (nologo is Toronto).

So my point is...what's up with all the Canadians being upset about corporate brands in the USA?

It would seem ironic to me too!... if their efforts were solely focused with the Corporate issues in the US. I don't know if you had the chance to hear about the work Ms. Klain is being doing in Argentina, Bolivia and Peru, for example. Then again, much of the effort has to be aimed to the US, the majority of the corporations that are causing irreversible damages in the countries I mentioned are from the US...that's the reason why many nations in the world, not only Canada, are upset about corporate brands in the USA....because of their global manipulations.

Just a heads up for anyone in the Western MD, South-Central PA, WV Panhandle, NoVa areas:

I called the Hagerstown WalMart and they told me they send out the Super 8 film to FujiColor in Williamsport. Then I tracked down their number and of course they relay it to Dwaynes. Total cost: $4.88. Not too shabby. Can't wait to see how this works out.

Despite Walmart and Mcdonalds crushing our society think about the good that comes out of walmart: now more younger and maybe older filmmakers or super 8 enthusiast will come out and produce because its so cheap to buy a decent camera and use the walmart processing over anything else. This is giving us all a load of more opportunities and I know myself wouldn't have invested time and money into this if it wasn't for the idea of walmart and dwaynes. Who wants to spend $10-13 on test rolls, etc. or the students like myself that can't really afford.

Of course this can also lead to abad side, more people, less materials or prices rise...well I hope not.

This would be very true if Walmart promoted or even knew anything about what they offer in the way of super 8 processing. Imagine how many burgers McDonalds would sell if you asked them for a Big Mac and the person behind the counter said,"They don't make those any more." ;)

Walmart is not the only way to get cheaper processing. PK59 mailers only cost $6. So you can pay about $1.50 more and avoid Walmart if you wish.

Man, isn't this damn horse dead yet??

I've seen WalMart processing come up as a thread here at least 10 times in the past year. Then the same exact question come up over and over again.

Jeez. Maybe I will create a web page to answer this question once and for all!

I know, I keep wondering what the politics of walmart have to do with filmmaking.

I mean, if we are going to question it on that level, we had better start asking where our clothes come from; where the plastic and metal came from for our cameras; where the lubricant came from for the gears; and where on earth all those chemicals go once our K14 process is done (funny how I never hear about anyone campaigning for poor old Kansas and their having to deal with all of our evil chemicales from that processing). Heck, how about the jet fuel and pollution related to the air travel our films take all over the world.

OK, unlike other forums, I do not have the ability to lock this thread. I think the originators should get that power? It would be sooo much fun.

I'm done with this thread. Enjoy yourselves folks.

Hey, you're the one who used 30 exclamation points and called saving $4 a "religion". :P
