It is not made any more. Any around is old stock - which if kept in the fridge is fine. As far as I am aware Kodak will still process it.

K25 will last well into 2004

Post by Bart Sanders »

Hi there,

With current demand, Kodak stocks of K25 will last until somewhere in 2004. Source: SCHMALFILM, a german journal on filmmaking. This is FRESH stock from the final K25 production run. I use it myself for my H8 and it is superb. Buy via Internet from Wittner Kinotechnik and processing is even included.

K25 availability and exp. date

Post by Bart Sanders »

Hi,

The 30.5 mtr roll I bought and shot this summer had (not sure here) aug. 2004 on it, but def. 2004. Image quality is (as said) superb.

I would not be too afraid here with a 2003 date on it, K25 when stored in optimal or even reasonable conditions stays very good over a very long time. I have once shot a 7.5 mtr roll in a to-be-tested Bolex C8 (amazing quality!). That roll was from.... 1984! It came out great and my testfilm turned into a nice little home movie of that holiday period in the Alps.

So, I would definitely buy 2003 stock! I will stock up myself any week now.
