Thanks again for all the advice

Hello,

I think I have the same camera, sold as Porst XL 850 Sound. Unfortunatelu those picture links did not work and I was not able to verify if it is the same camera, but specs are identical. I have not used it yet, I bought it from eBay couple of months ago, I paid 25 Euros.

There was another Porst in eBay, too. Does this look similar as Bauer 290 ?

These both cameras (Bauer and Porst) have the great Bauer Neovaron 1.2/6-51 mm lens (same that Bauer S 709 XL model has) and has almost the same possibilities than Bauer 709/715 models.

Here is one short example shot with Bauer S 709 XL with 24 fps to check that lens quality (I shot it on May 2002):

Hello!

Although I am not using it anymore, I did in the past. It has a great lens. It runs quiet and it is stable in holding when shooting without a tripod.

Highly recommended. Expect to pay 40 to 50 Euros for good ones.

Porst 1500 is the same camera with that long 6-90 mm angenieux-lens than Bauer S 715 XL. Personally I own both Bauer s 709 XL and Ports 1500 (Bauer 715). They both are superb cameras. You can check Porst image quality from my wild sync sound test mpg-file from Summer 2002:
