Sankyos must be built to last an eternity

The thing is this. Over the last couple of years I have seen several Sankyo CM 300\400, and yesterday I got a Sankyo MF 606. They seem indestructible. I was very pleased with the pictures from the cm 400 and hope the mf 606 will be as good or better.
Any thoughts?

It seems that in the early seventies this was a popular camera in Norway, or is it that the sankyos just are built to last for ever? Do you see these cameras in your part of the world?

I have a regular 8mm Sankyo that is in great condition and runs fine. But I wouldn't want to hammer nails with it. :lol:

Construction seems solid, but on the day I bought a supertronic, the reflex mirror dropped out of it and into the lens barrel, scratching up the built in daylight filter. I still don't have it properly aligned yet.

I guess glue can dry out and lose its tack on anything.

I should say, though, that I'm not really complaining. I've learned a lot about camera construction from this beast, and I'm sure I'll soon have it back up and running in focus.

:lol: i'm almost shure that you can use the cm and mf cameras as a hammer, but i'm not gonna try. I will, however, run some film through the mf 606 to see what kind of quality it gives. hope it will be good.

I love Sankyos, my EM60XL does everything I want it to and has never needed repair, I must have put thousands of feet of film through it as well!
