Wurker duoplay!

Post by avortex »

I'm going to buy some tape splices for my Würker, so I want to know if have to get them with 2 or 4 frames. I think 2 frames makes more invisible splices, but If you want to blow up the original to 16mm or put it on a Rank perhaps the 4 frames is a better solution (better steadyness?).

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I you want to blow your stuff or get a telecine transfer, the best solution is not editing your stuff. On a telecine or optical printer, the spliced cut make a "jump", lose for a quick moment registration & focus, but as quick this could be, it is easely noticeable by everyone.

In regards to which Wurker splices to use, the 4-frame ones-- if you can get them-- can be cut in half for twice the number per each pack (!).

Wurker splices can also be applied manually to film using any splicing block-- meaning any other kind of splicer, like the Minette-- with great results, and it's not much more work than using the now unavailable Wurker splicer itself.
