I am using Movie Studio to edit avi files of old 8mm home movies and then burn DVDs with DVD Architect 2. The problem I am having is that when I import the avi file from my WorkPrinter capture into Movie Studio I end up with missing frames that show up as black areas in the movie.
If I play the avi file in Windows Media Player, they play fine with no missing frames. But both a preview of the imported file and timeline version have missing frames.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening or how to correct it?
Where did my frames go?

Yes I am using Cinecap for the capture and it works great. I don't remember which Codec I used for these captures (I will have to double-check my notes). The strange thing is if I simply play the avi file that Cinecap outputs, everything looks fine. Its only when I import into Vegas Movie Maker that I lose frames (anywhere from 1 to 5 seconds) at various spots in the film.
