basic filter set?

what do you recommend as a standard filter set for color and black&white shooting?
which trade marks do you recommend?

color: 85, uv, polarizer, soft/net/diffusion/whatever, mist, grad, warm.

b&w: yellow, orange, red, green + all of the above except 85 and warm.

while surfing trough shops i stumbled over the differenciation between uv- and skylight filters. i always thought theyÃ‚Â´re the same.
is there any difference?

ah, i found out: the skylight filter has some slight additional brown color correction to filter out some blue.

I knew nothing about this filter system until I had lunch with a still photographer friend, and he had a set of these mounted to his camera. I think they are quite widely used in the still photography world, but the system is such that you can get one set of filters and they can easily be adapted to any diameter lens front. Great concept.
