Fuji Super 8 petition
I'm just wondering if anyone would be interested in the possibility of starting a petition to ask Fuji to make Super 8 for the United States?

Even when I could like to add LatinAmerican distribution and support!
Happy New Year! ;)
Cheers!

The patent has long expired I am sure. Anyone could make the cartridge but having dies made is expensive and I am sure they wont want to spend the money. It's just not cost effective. Now putting negative into Fuji single-8 carts is possible.

Don't worry about equipment so much and make your movie!

I can see your point. I never really thought of it like that. I was kind of hoping that a Fuji Super 8 might drive prices down a little bit, but I guess if Kodak figured that was taken care of, they would probably just drop their stocks out of existence all together.
I love film to death, and will use it until nobody makes it anymore, I just think that its overpriced, and I think a lot of it has to do with Kodak essentially having a monopoly...

A standard Kodak cart could hold about 65 feet of Single8 stocks though and a different Pressure plate & proper! suspension! had to be developed for those stocks.
Can´t see how Fuji would have any interest in this anyway though.
For Fuji Single8 the logistics are established and working.
How about Fuji in K cart?
Besides: Film is freshware - cant see Fuji blow thir money on that risc - especially these days when digital is the name of the game.

I think that the best choice for Fuji is sell 50 -200 ft S8 rolls in cans, and manufacturing a new 50 - 200 ft reloadable cartridge, as the Russians done more than 10 years ago.
My feeling is that Fuji will NEVER release Super 8 film in sealed cartridges.
It´s more convenient and cheaper to Fuji (and Us) selling S8 in raw stock.
Carlos.
