Okay, what I meant was that as long as there is no reference to other technique or company doing the transfer on the same clips, it's difficult to be objective.

i know, and i agree the clip looks rather crappy, but you can tell from the sharpness of the grain that the transfer itself is sharper than what you get from a workprinter for example. working at a post house and then going home and work with old and home made gear must be torture. ;-)

Well at least to me it's a breath of fresh air. Old equipment and cameras are soooo cool.

yeah, that was a tounge in cheek statement. i move back and forth between the two worlds all the time too. today i proofread a screenplay for the new beck series, then prepared for onlining my new short, then rolled some tri-x through my ancient keystone, and the latter was easily the most rewarding, even though the first is better for my bank account. :-)
