DV SD to HD for Sniper app / Cinecap?

Hi All,

I sent Roger a note on this to get his thoughts, but I know he's on vacation in Utopia :lol:

Anyhow, Canopus has a new product (Edius 3) that reportedly can use mixed sources (standard def, and high def) and output to HD 1080x1920 in realtime from these mixed sources. However, they talk about 'up-converting' of SD material using a proprietary Canopus CODEC to output to HD (see link).

- Do you suppose that with a 700 line camera, material could be captured with Cinecap using the Canopus HD CODEC, full frame, uncompressed, and then successfully output to HD with Edius 3? Seems like that with 700 lines to work with, there would be enough data to do this.
