If, IF, I get the question of where to have my S8 K 40 processed, using the European PK59 mailer in the USA, resolved, I'll want to have the film sound striped.
Would users of this service, sound striping Super 8 film, please relay your experiences?
Does the stripe fall off? Is the sound crappy? Does the stripe stay in place?
I was told in film school not to have it done. That the stripe turns into spaghetti. :?:
Thanks for any input.
Michael

Mikko Tuuliainen here in Finland has this kind of service. You can find his demo from this next mpg-file (sorry about the language, but you'll get the point) shot from our small gauge film meeting in Finland:

I have this same striping machine also at my home, but don't have striping tape and cement.
About the sound, these striped magnetic tracks are even better than original ones in Kodak super 8 sound rolls. They are very steady ones according to Mikko.
Here is also Mikko's email address:

Thanks,
It was added to my collection of places to have it done.
What I am looking for is something like,
Yea, I do it all the time. Projecting movies with sound is cool, I have lots of them and they are all fine. It is fun and easy, don't sell your Cannon PS-1000 sound projector. Use it in confidence and have fun.
something like that.
Do you have sound stripeing done?

Anybody here ever used Andec's striping service?:

Also has anybody had experience with a stripe applied over an overlapped cement splice? How well does it stay on?
