Bono lab Super 8 to HD
Spoke with Bono lab and they say the also do super 8 to d5-HD.The woman there said the footage is great with zero artifacts and no grain added to the original source footage. There prices are also cheaper than Flying spot in Seattle. ex .1/2 hour of footage transfered to HD would be $325 U.S dollars(thats about 11 rolls). I'm not familiar with them, has anyone used their service before for any transfers?
Bono Films
Hey, scott.
I have used their regular telecine lab services. They have been extremely helpful, and the footage transfered looked great. I have looked into the bonolabs division and am considering the tapeless for a future project.
Here is another option. If you are doing just super8 transfer. When i got my transfer back just 2weeks ago, they gave me a postcard advertising their new service for bonofilms telecine transfer. They will deliver 8-bit uncompressed quicktime file on a harddrive 1200ft max, as an option now through their bonofilms/bonolabs divisions.
check it out.

I recently attempted to process a roll of VNF via Bono. Sometime during the fall unbeknown to me they changed their minimum process order to $50. As a result Bono returned my roll of VNF unprocessed and charged me $8.00 for the return for shipping and handling. $8.00 sheesh, I sent the same roll to them for 83 cents.

Wouldn't most places have processed the film and charged you $50.00?JCook wrote:I recently attempted to process a roll of VNF via Bono. Didn't you get off quite cheaply?
I'd further guess that if you had more rolls of film to process, they probably would have applied the $8.00 as credit towards the $50.00.
Most service buinesses lose money on small transactions of under $50.00, have a heart.

I agree with Alex, $8 bucks is great much better than the $50. Bono said the are commited to the best super 8 to HD possible because we treat it as a professional format. They say HD to harddrive or to HD tape service that they do will produce the best image Super 8 can give!.Flying spot in Seattle is so busy with Super 8 they told me they may not be able to process any new super 8 jobs untill sometime in FEBUARY!
