Re: YOU REPLIES
And you are obviously too blind to the fact that only ONE PERSON said ANYTHING about your site being down and yet you say we're all stupid? I hope your attention to detail in your product is better than your attention to detail in this thread. As I said before, virtually everyone here is on your side but you just don't see that, I guess. Chill out, dude. I think we're all rooting for you but you need to count to ten the next time you feel like venting. These are your prospective clientel that you continue to insult over and over. :roll:supermag400_inventor wrote:YOU PEOPLE ARE UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! .... I took the web site down because you suggested it be revampt. So I am changing it. I've changed my policy on the warranty and extended it. And instead of the bad videos I will only put out good stuff on the web site along with a promotional DVD. AS YOU SUGGESTED!!!! Along with a complete Brochure of the products. But obviously your all to stupid to see that!
BTW: You don't have to remove the site to update it. Just do the updates and when you upload the changes, everything will be different instantly.

Hey, Aj was the only guy complaining about the website being down!
Personally I think you have made some good decisions, I just couldn´t believe my eyes when I read that you would leave the bad films and not put any new (and hopefully good!) filmclips online. Now that would have been a really weird way to show your product!
You will sell more mag´s now for sure, sorry if I sounded too hard, but perhaps that was just what was needed for you to wake up?
But how could we know about your changes when you in your last post stated that you would not change a thing?
You are on the right track now, but you seriously need to change your attitude. It sucks.
No matter how good your product is, you cannot go on insulting your future customers! You attitude really sucks.
"So what if I lose some customers to this forum, so what if I lose some customers to that forum, so what if I lose some..."
Is this what you want to have as your reputation?
You are on the right track when it comes to your website, believe me when I say it was a wise decision from you.
Next step is to learn how to avoid calling your clients names and insulting those who you should take care of. You need to calm down and to learn what patience is.
Learn some "people-skills" before you get a really bad repiutation!

The Supermag
Thank you.... you are so correct. It's funny, we are all on the same side, are we not?
The internet has made this whole thing possible. Without it, we'd all still be throwing stones at windows.

It's just in our nature to bitch, I guess. Reminds me of the only good line in the otherwise lackluster movie "Van Helsing". Igor is continually shocking the Frankenstein monster over and over and is asked,'"Why do you torment him so, Igor?" And Igor replies, "But master, it's what I do..."

If that was the only complaint/suggestion in the thread!Uppsala BildTeknik wrote:Hey, Aj was the only guy complaining about the website being down!
I just mentioned it as I referred a friend who then told me the site was under construction, again.
Really a show of how a reputation comes by foot and goes by horse. If this is proper idiom in english.
Kind regards,
André

In fairness to the Supermag inventor and no offence to Uppsala, he never said he is NOT going to pull out the existing clips. What he is saying is future clips will be sent out only through DVD once the Supermag is 100% ready.Uppsala BildTeknik wrote:WHY, WHY, WHY????I will be continuing to shoot more clips. However, from now on, they will not be put on the site. I will not put any more clips or updates on the site until the Supermag is absolutely 100 % complete and ready. Then I will only provide those clips to those who request them by e-mail, and they will receive a DVD of all test footage.
This is really the most stupid thing I have read, I never thought that anyone could be so ....stupid!
You would sell MORE mag´s for sure if you took away the SHIT FILMS that you have, and took away the "ALL MAG´S ARE EXPERIMENTAL", but maybe you will sell enough anyway, I don´t know.
The only problem I can see is Supermag should not spend any more money sending DVD's away. What we are saying is just replace the existing horrible clips to new clips after all bugs are taken out.

Forgive me for being an idiot and calling you all stupid. But just remember, I was being called stupid first. I have had a bad week. Nothing has been going right. Pro 8 won't send me the last test roll. Now he said it's too badly fogged and not any good. I don't know what's up there. His initial e-mail stated the film was fogged but the registration was "Rock steady".. I'd like to see that for myself. Now he wants me to shoot more footage without the fogging. How do I do that when I don't know what's causing the fogging if I can't see the film results. I'm going to go NUTS! Is it the film stock, the mag or the camera? I don't know.
ANYWAY! .... Lets not go down that road anymore. My feet are tired.
I have changed the site and it's up now. I hope it meets with everyone's approval.
I don't want you as enemies... I want you as friends, and customers.
Have a great day!

I was talking about his latest complaints about "us all" being so stupid, even now that he had taken away the webpage to make the changes so many had suggested. When there was only one complaint about the page not being available, didn´t mean to pick on you.If that was the only complaint/suggestion in the thread!
But he did, (at least I thought he did):In fairness to the Supermag inventor and no offence to Uppsala, he never said he is NOT going to pull out the existing clips.
I thought that he was going to leave the page as it was, not adding any "good" clips. Maybe I misunderstood something, I don´t know.I will be continuing to shoot more clips. However, from now on, they will not be put on the site. I will not put any more clips or updates on the site until the Supermag is absolutely 100 % complete and ready. Then I will only provide those clips to those who request them by e-mail, and they will receive a DVD of all test footage.
Anyway, lets just forget all this "fighting" and so on, OK?

Yup. We people are indeed unbelievable. I still can't believe there are this many folks stumbling through the labor of love that is Super8.
And YOU sir, are unbelievable as well.
While most of us sit out here daydreaming about this or that, YOU have put your time, effort and money into DOING something.
Kudos.
Seems we've all got our opinions of where this Super-8 thing should be and how it should step into the future. And fortunately, we all voice those opinions. Sometimes using harsh words. I'm actually surprised by myself, reading this thread. Of all the words in the English language, the one I'm finding the most offensive these days is "stupid." Anyway...
We're all on the same team, and in the same boat. And I think we're all being supportive, although it may not look like it at first. All the criticisms in this thread have been, to my eyes, constructive at their core. Somewhat surprising, IMHO. Not the usual rash of "Jesus, why would you ever want to do that? Since I see no need for it, NOBODY could possibly want or use it..." OK, a couple are close. ;)
As far as the tie-in with Pro8mm, some have said David should distance himself from them. But that's it. Nobnody's offered a functional, logical alternative. From a business perspective, I think David should get anybody on board he can. WE can choose who we get the film from. If you've got an outlet other than Pro8mm, go for it. Now, if there's any kind of contract for exclusivity, then I might suggest looking for alternatives.
This is cool shtuff, folks. It's something that's been asked for for years. The last few years of Super-8 progress have FAR eclipsed the previous 15-20. That amazes me.
Good job, David. I can't wait to get one. But I will. Until I see better results. ;)
If I had any web-design proficiency to offer, I'd pitch in for you.

Re: YOU REPLIES
walk away for a few days!! this forum has many people of many ages and knowledge levels ... it is not like any other forum. many creatives here, and many frustrated creatives, which can reak havoic on a text based conversation being construed by those reading it, instead of in the proper context as those who worte it/them.supermag400_inventor wrote:YOU PEOPLE ARE UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! .... But obviously your all to stupid to see that! I have to do it myself, I don't have a webmaster to do it for me.
I've got lots of potential customers, so if I loose a few to this forum, I'm not going to cry about it. It would be your loss not mine. When the mags do prove to be a good deal, your going to wonder why you were so slow to see it.
I'm not sure you'dl all know how to use a magazine if you had one. Perhaps I'm in the wrong place. I should stay out of this forum all together and let you just guess what's going on.
Sorry to sound so negative about your comments, but it's very discouraging to have you all stomp on my grave when I'm not dead yet. This thing is taking time to perfect.....cut me some slack. Unless you want to go to 16 mm or video for the flexability that this magazine will give to super 8, then I suggest you be more supportive and not so critical.
just keep doing what you are doing and be TRUE to what you beleive ... DONT start to bow or bend to others, and take my advise with a grain of salty to everyone elses advise ... for it belongs to US, not you. in the end you will do what is best for you, and so long as it is true, you'll be fine with it and can live with it. you make the rules with supermag, for it is your baby and your deal/gig. if others wish to partake, they will. and for those who PAY you money and do indeed partake, then take their advice as a customer who beleives in your product, and who has financially supported it. i trust you will sell more supermags to people that are NOt posters on this site, then you will to those who post on this site.

 More Advice! ........8<... take it easy. Have a beer....>8.....
Myself, as a Yank living next to King Arthurs Court, it's Guinness that's needed, or warm, not cold beer.
I think most London ad agencies use actors with Scottish accents to present a trust worthy voice to the "British". Don't know who the Scots, Welsh or Irish trust. Funny just yesterday, IIRC, the House of Commons booted out a Scottish MP for using bad language!
As for future demo clips, I noticed a distinct lack of the two or three B's... "Babes, Boobs, and Bums". Film a fashion shoot, those exposure hungry egoists would just luv to be filmed shooting a shoot. Maybe a drama, concert, or comedy act dress rehersal.
Even if you film kittens and puppies playing and sleeping, consider the search engines, and name the film clips "Bedroom romp", "best positions" or "puppy love".
I teach multimedia at university in London. Find and feed a local college multimedia teacher, or their starving students, and they will perform a few website miracle-lettes in html, flash and or PR video clips. Sorry it's too late my students just finished the semester, making a bunch of short Mini DV based iMac DVD's, with titles like "Nightmare in the Library" or "School Bus Ride to Hell", "Safe in the Dark?".

I thought your girlfirend did an exellent job aswell. But, I no nothin' bout no voiceovers, so I thought it was great anyway.
I for one, like seeing the progress of your films, It tells me right off the bat that your product functions the way a drive magazine should anyway. So the clips and films arent your best work, you are TRYING!
I personally, wonder if once the SuperMag is realesed, that if it can catch and garner enought attention and respect that some new cameras might pop up aswell? That would make a great poll question for all super 8 enthusiasts.
I worry though, if Kodak(and I dont know anyway) was the first to come up with the sound cart and 200' cart ideas, and you have essentially(again I dont know) built up the 200' cart, and using the same sound cart frame, you are infringing on old, or still copyrighted ideas?
I definetly intend to ask for a DVD anytime he alerts us of an upgrade or new films.
Cheers,
Jordan
