I have a Eumig Mk 8 projector that does std and super 8. I bought it off ebay to do some transfers of family 8mm to DVD. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get a stable picture from it. If I have it so that I can see the full frame, then there is a lot of jittering in the picture. If I adjust the film gate to stop the jittering, then the top third of the frame appears at the bottom of the picture.
any suggestions greatfully received as I was hoping to get this done for Christmas

Sorry
Sorry to sound thick, but I am a complete novice to cine, I work in the pro-video market.
I assume the loop restorer is the lever above the first sprocket?
As for checking tightness etc, sorry wouldn't know what should and shouldn't be tight and wouldn't know where to lube.
As for film condition, it's all approx 30 years old, no apparent splices but again wouldn't know a bad bit from a good bit.
Sorry to appear vague, but as I said, cine projection is all new to me.

Having checked
Having checked, cleaned etc on my projector, I still have the problem with the frame line about 2/3 down the frame to get a stable image. The rotating adjustment knob is fully wound in.
Is the fact that when I unwind the knob, I get the frame in the right place but a jittery picture telling me that the film gate is too tight or too loose and what can I do to adjust it further please.
