K3 Time Lapse

Post by scott »

You need either an intervalometer (available online) or tireless fingers to push a cable release every second for an hour or so. I recommend the intervalometer.

I was also looking to do time lapse, so I recently picked up a Minolta XL401 Super8 camera with a built-in intervalometer for $22.50 on eBay. Now I just hope it works correctly when I receive it.

One thing to make a note of when doing timelapses with the K3 is that the camera will leak light. This means you can't use longer intervals than 4-6 seconds without getting fogging. I recommend max 4 seconds. I've tried everything from 1 to 60 seconds intervals and the longer the more fogging.

Btw: I use the TIV-300K from http://www.intervalometers.com
