Anyone have a Ziess Ikon Moviflex S8 manual?

Thanks - I needed that! I just wanted to read for myself that you actually use your finger to override the auto-turning rial on the aperture. Makes me worried about the motor and all but if they say so (though sadly, they are dead now).

Ahh
That's what I thought for a while, until Santo pointed out that if you run from the mechanical release the aperture stays put. It's in the manual, though difficult to discern.

And it finally makes sense (I never liked stopping that motor either). Quite a brilliant design really. Run from the cable and the aperture is locked - touch the trigger and auto kicks in. Move it/stop it by hand as required.

But my three S8's and my GS8 are all jumpy - as in, imagine the worst possible registration, all the more frustrating because the lens looks super fine. Anybody else getting that?

I'll let you know - I am going to do shoot out between the GS8 and the M811. I sure hope registration is the LAST of my worries.

My Zeiss Ikons all are very stable registration wise. Yours my need servicing. When an engine of a car starts misfiring (jumpy) it is time for a tune up. So is the case with these cameras.
