Are you ready hey are you ready for this?
Are you hanging on the edge of your seat?
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat yeah

Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust
Its me, So I bit the dust:
Bought a Sony DCR PC120 MiniDV with a 1.5Mpix chip today for business purposes (with absolutely no enthusiasm - strange?).

Now, suppose this is a medium class Mini DV cam?
It isn´t and that aint f.. no any Prosumer DV (3 chip either) cam at all.

I checked the analog to Dv converter by connecting my old Sony 840E Hi8 cam to the cams analog input, inserting my 30 min PRO hi8 casette with some test recoring I did with an old BETA with and interchangable Hi8 back.

Guess what: The stuff looks MUCH better than what the PC120 are capable of, under any circumstances, any light condition.

MiniDV is fake but handy.

Well, it's not so strange, because the colour and resolution of a "pro" camera like that beta (even with the Hi8 deck) is better than a low level miniDV, BUT a pro model of DV (DVCam, DVCpro,...) gives much more better results than this one.

And of course, an amateur Hi8 camera gives inferior results compared to an amateur MiniDV.

Anyway, I prefer (as everybody here) the colour and texture of film. Mmmmh...

Agree but this BETA is 10 or 12 years old or so.
Shows that there are still a BIG gap between old PRO and new proSUMER(-) level cams.

Had no expectations that the PC120 would beat the BETA but I thought it would be closer. 1.55mpix should close in on 3x400?kpix?

I never use video for film making.
This is pure job documentation tool only.
