My web site now has the B8 camera for sale, price based on the other one that sold.

http://www.16mmoviemaking.com/8mm_cameras.htm

I'd just like to avoid the e-bay hassle and sell direct. If you want something let me know you are interested and we can come to some agreement I'm sure.

There is another perfectly running B8, with lots of lenses, a handle, a strap, the leather bag, books, that i'm going to have to list as well. I just can't see those little numbers anymore and the viewfinder is made for other eyes. I love it but can't enjoy using it anymore. It runs smoothly and quietly for the full spring wind. It was receiently lubercated.

My H8 with black lenses is being sold, too.

I only like my H8RX and P1 anymore.

I'll try to get it all posted ASAP with pictures. Let me know if you need movie screens or tripods or light meters or lights or or or... I got it all.

That B8, Sometimes it buzzes and sometimes it runs smooth as silk. With a Bolex Cable Release it works perfectly in single frame! So, it'll stay as a animation or time lapse manual camera.

There was a dirty old B8 for sale on ebay for $5? Did you see it? One could take that apart for practice. Martin's instructions said there were difficult problems inside further than the removal of the pressure plate and holder and I'm going to stay away from deeper work. I did, however, take apart the 36mm frozen focus lens, clean and lube IT and it is good as new

gold spring

Post by studiocarter »

Hey Gobo,

Which way does the little gold spring go that is under the leather roller on the take up side of the gate? Does it poke in, so that the roller will click if advanced by the take up reel? Or does it lay outside, and allow the wheel to go backwards, but not forwards?

Michael

mine was outside. when I took the gate holder off there was a lot of metal dust laying about. To me, that is a sign that it was not supposed to be outside but poked inside. Which way did you make yours go?
