Beaulieu 2008, 3008, 5008, 7008, 9008 all have true ground glass focussing. The 2, 3 and 5008 like the 4008 have retrackable GG screens. 6008 models do not have true full screen ground glass but can be converted.Mr_Floppy wrote:Well, the question is simple... Apart from the Beaulieus 4008 series?.

Leicina Special? It's a big bright screen - it certainly seems like a ground glass focussing camera. It also takes the same lens as the beaulieus...anyone know for sure?
Another thing, I used to own an Arri, which was obviously a ground glass camera, and the shutter was a spinning section of a disc, like most cameras. Why does the beaulieu have a "guillotine" shutter, which surely is why it's so damned noisy? Is it just the French obsession with guillotines, or am I just slowly offending all of my European brothers and sisters in my vain and desperate attempt to reconcile the fact that no decent Super8 cameras ever came out of England?
