Kodak Discontinues Sale of K40 Prepaid Processing Carts
In an earlier thread, T-Scan mentioned something about Kodak discontinuing sale of the prepaid K40 mailer, so I looked into this for myself and realized that what's actually being discontinued as of this month is the sale of the K40 cartridge with prepaid processing (CAT# 505 3335). This is the prepaid processing K40 cartridge that included a little yellow mailing envelope that oddly never listed a US mailing address for processing. Judging from the envelope, I had always thought that CAT# 505 3335 was meant more for sale in Europe, so I don't know if it's being discontinued here in the US or if it's actually a worldwide discontinuation.
Also, this may already be old news, but just thought I'd pass along that the S8 Vision2 200T will be replacing S8 Vision 200T on a stock turnover basis. I didn't realize that the original Vision 200T carts were going to be phased out, although it makes sense since Vision2 is apparently a finer grain stock, and I guess it really doesn't make sense to be manufacturing two different 200T carts for S8.

I meant to include this in my original message, but here's the October listing for discontinued items which includes CAT #505 3335.

Don't understand what's up with them these days. About 20 years ago I was having trouble finding a place to process some Tri-X, and I wrote them a letter (...a real one on paper, with an envelope and a stamp!). I thought "well, that's the last I'll hear of that!". About a week later, this very nice letter showed up with a list of local labs and ending with a real human name and signature!
I thought "What great customer service!"
Now they make changes and communicate them so badly that even they don't know what's happening!

Also, it appears the K40 without processing has gone up from $10.54 to $10.83, at least that was the price they charged me last week.

Sorry, to clarify. I work for Ritz Camera, who in turn send it to Dwaynes. Get it back in about a week, and costs only $1 more than sending direct to Dwaynes. Cheaper than the shipping. Of course I get the employees discount.super8man wrote:Downix, unless you work at Dwaynes, I doubt you are processing your own K40 at your "workplace"... sorry, but I am sure you must be referring to B&W...
Just trying to avoid confusion for newbies...

I'm not sure about that. When I send K40 in the prepaid mailer to the Canadian address, it is mailed back from the US -- It has a MD postmark, which seems to indicate that Dwayne's is bulk shipping back to Kodak for final mailing.aj wrote:And the discontinuance applies only to USA
I'm trying to determine if Wal-Mart in Canada processes Super 8 (I doubt it), and I'm also waiting for a callback from Kodak Canada to find out how they're handling the cancellation of the prepaid mailer program.
