New Address for Kodak K-14 S8 Prepaid Processing?

Post by super8film »

I recall reading not too long ago something about Kodak closing their Fair Lawn, NJ office, so does anyone know of a new address for sending in proces paid K40 carts, or are we to still use the Fairlawn address?

Also, has anyone mailed in any prepaid processing carts recently, and if so, what has been your average turnaround time? I normally just handle my K40 processing through Wal-Mart/Dwayne's, but I still have one prepaid procesisng cart so I just thought I'd take advantage of the free processing since I'm not in a big hurry to get it back. I'd imagine that the process would be faster since Dwayne's is now handling the processing for Kodak, but who knows...

Finally, for those who send K40 carts to Fairlawn, do you usually use the "P.O. Box 7000" or "16-31 Route 208" address, or does it really not make any difference?

Thanks!

On second thought, has anyone tried submitting a prepaid processing K40 cartridge through a Kodak processing outlet (like Target), and if so, was the prepaid status of the cartridge honored? In other words, was the processed film returned with a price sticker indicating no charge?

I posted one to Fair Lawn 2 weeks ago and got it back in the normal 10 days. I searched the return envelope for a note saying the Fair Lawn address was closing down and saw nothing. I sent two more out this morning and don't expect any problems.

Also, there is much reason to believe that Dwayne's has been doing the processing for all North American K-40 (regardless of Fair Lawn, or Walmart or whoever else is gathering the film) ever since Kodak started selling the pre-paid film here about 2 years ago.

Re: The choice of Fairlawn Addresses. I've always used the "PO Box 7000", but I've heard from any number of people on the Forums that the direct address will get you there just as well.

Bomber. We should ask Kodak what the new price is without the mailer now that they are taking this out.

Other option: Can Dwayne sell pre-paid mailer?

I can't imagine why Dwayne's couldn't offer a mailer. In the 35mm slide processing arena, you can go to B&H Photo (http://www.bhphoto.com) and get prepaid mailers from Kodak for Kodachrome film and an indpendent lab named A&I for E6 processing. There's proof enough that independent labs are willing to play this game.

Whether or not Dwayne's decides to go this route depends a lot on how proactive they are willing to be.

A bigger problem: how negatively will Kodak's decision to eliminate the prepaid option affect Dwaynes? Is every Super-8 user savvy enough to motor their film over to WalMart for processing?
