New Items at MovieStuff

Post by MovieStuff »

Hi, all!

The new year brings some changes at MovieStuff. I have added two new units: The WorkPrinter-XP (Express) and the CineMate-PAL. The WorkPrinter-XP is a unit designed for higher speed tranfers at 6fps only, with no remote and no single frame advance.

See:

I can now offer this unit since Jeff Dodson has made some outstanding upgrades to the already terrific DodCap software found at:

http://www.alternaware.com

The latest version is faster and more efficient than Premier and, at only $35.00, is a bargain for performing the necessary stop motion capture function required by the WorkPrinter series and, particularly, by the 6fps demand rate of the WorkPrinter-XP. Some further testing is being done but future versions of the WorkPrinter-XP might have transfer rates as high as 9 or 10fps, depending on various software/hardware allowances. The much coveted WorkPrinter-Pro is still available (but at a higher price due to an increase in production costs).

The CineMate-PAL is now available for people wanting to transfer their R8 and S8 home movies. It will run at 16.66fps if your PAL camera is set to 1/50th second shutter speed. 16.66fps is a very handy compromise between the 16fps or R8 and the 18fps of S8.

Please see:

I have also added a much requested FAQ page. I will be constantly adding to this page on a regular basis as I think of things and talk to other people.

Please see:

And, finally, I have removed the sound effects section of the website due to a lack of time to deal with it. However, I have added a photo section featuring WorkPrinter and CineMate clients posing with their beloved transfer units. There's only, like, two photos now but more are on the way (or so I'm told!). Anyway, please see:

Again, to all of you that encouraged me to take on this venture, I want to say thanks. And to everyone, I hope this new year brings nothing but bright, clear Kodachrome memories.

Our best,

Roger and Annette Evans
