OT: Does login cookie expire?

Post by sunrise »

For a long time I have been able to visit the forum and having ticked the auto-login I was already loged on when I came here.

However, this does not seem to happen anymore regardless that I tick the auto-login everytime. What has happened to my login cookie?

There's no recent updates or security settings that I have tempered with...

I have set the cookie security to prompt, but even after deleting the cookie, the site does not prompt. As soon as I close the browser and open a new one it has forgot all about the login.

WinXP, IE6.

Any help appreciated.

And athother thing I noticed is that I cannot use the "View newest post" button", which is another cookie thing.

Really? I haven't been able to keep the cookie-login there for a long time, but now I did some changes to the settings and it worked fine for me. Try delting cookies from Tools "Delete cookies". The login again with the button ticked for auto login.

It works for me now and I hope it will work for you too. Let me know.

I'm not promptet to save a cookie.

Although I did the delete cookies, and manually checked the cookies folder.

Well, it doesn't work here any longer either.
Nor in the regular forum entry nor in the test2script.

Cannot be the cookies in the remote browsers one might conclude.
Kind regards,

I noticed the time of the board is about one hour off. Is there some sort of time coded into these cookies?
Kind regards,

André

still a no go here... did some tests:

cleared all cookies, logged in again... quit browser... loaded site again ->> NO automatic login.. in fact NO cookie in the cookie manager either.

same thing happens in two different browsers (safari and camino) and since others are having the smae problem it seems to be a server side related issue.. andreas, any idea?

Looks like Andreas took out the "8mm" subdomain. To keep your cookie, log in, then use the following link and save it as your bookmark.

Yes, that's correct. I'm phasing out the 8mm subdomain (http://www.8mm.filmshooting.com).

The site should always be accessed through http://www.filmshooting.com.

Not sure why the time is one hour off. The settings are correct, but even changing timezone gives the one hour off time.
