does Nizo 801 have single frame and time lapse features?

Just this quick question : does the Nizo 801 have single frame and time lapse features?

Thanks

Yes it does, in fact it has the time exposure which allows some cool effects that can only be obtained with this model. For silent film shooting I prefer this model even over the Nizo 6080. It has better features.

Supa-Eight, please describe in more detail what effect you're talking about. Is it able to keep the shutter open for some time allowing more light to the film, Ie. for night timelapses?

If so, this is the camera I'm looking for. I was thinking about going for the Nizo Professional, but if the 801 is the only one with this function I'll have to go for that one. Please fill me in!

Cheers,
Andreas

It's exactly what you're thinking about Andreas, and the professional has the same feature + something extra, but I can't remember what that was.

The professional has the same features as the 801 plus a multicoated lens, pilotone, and the ability to fold the handle back and mount on a tripod. Both the 801 and the professional are great cameras.

The Nizo 800 series has a function called Auto B.

It has a second meter [located above the lens]. It utilizes this meter to determine how long the shutter needs to be open per frame - up to one minute.

I am unsure about 801, but the 800 does not have Macro function like the Nizo Pro does.

Yeah the 801 has the same auto B feature. The slow shutter feature is my personal favorite thing you can do with a Super 8 cam besides some great timelapse or stop animation. Although, I wish the second light meter used for the auto B meter feature was monitored through the lens.

Nizo 801 and Nizo Professional

Post by Guest »

Hi,
some annotations to

souper8:
There's another difference between the Nizo Pro and Nizo 801, 800, 561, 560, 481, 480. Unlike the other cameras, the Nizo Pro offers 25 fps (not 24 fps!).

crimsonson:
Nizo 800 (560, 480) never have macro function.
There are Nizo 801 (561, 481) cameras with macro function (then called 801 macro ...) and without (Nizo 801 ...).
Nizo Ultra Wide Lenses can only be used with the macro function cameras.

Greetings!
Harald

The Nizo Pro DOES offer 24FPS in th selector. I had one. Mine was even crystal sync. There are two versions of PRo - Euro and American version if I am not mistaken because I have seen it both ways - only 24 or only 25.
