Broken Projector Blues

Post by espo »

On the way back from doing a projection at the Notting Hill Arts Club, my Sankyo Dualux 2000H had a nasty altercation with the floor of a London Bus, the result of which is that the rear drive spindle (the pick-up reel end) is now broken in two. I am quite upset about this as I like my projector, its variable speeds and slow-motion ability. I have gingerly pulled the thing apart and have removed the spindle from the clutch housing bit, and am puzzling over how to repair it. Has anybody out there got any old Sankyo projector bits or know of where to find such parts or shall I resort to Araldite?

Araldite, carefully mixed and applied, then rubbed down afterwards will do the trick. In fact,it will probably be stronger than all else!
Do not use superglue as these joins will seperate with a sharp knock, araldite wont and will break elsewhere.

I have a scrap Sankyo P1600. I have no idea whether or not it shares the part you need with your Sankyo Dualux [anyone?] but if it does you would be welcome to it for the cost of postage.
