OT: the princess

Post by mattias »

hey,

i work part time in a video store in a rather classy suburb, and yesterday the swedish princess (yes, daughter of the king) madeleine and her new boyfriend (according to the tabloids) came in, rented minority report and bought just one swedish fish (they're not called swedish fish in sweden though). he payed for the movie and she payed, one krona with her dad's portrait on it (must feel weird), for the fish. i read in the paper today that she was invited to this very cool and trendy party in the city but "decided not to come". *lol*

more reports to come... ;-)

What it the point? Did you film her shopping? Is this newsworthy?

The point was listed in the subject line. OT means "off topic". Which means there is no point. But any time Mattias sees a princess, I for one would like to hear about it!

When he touched her he then was probably touched by the boyfriend.

Very good but are your sure you only sold her a SF?

Swedish newspapers seem to connect the couple to some rather "odd" substances somewhat after the visit in your shop

Which reminds me of that I just bought a manual focus (non AF) 310 XL for $19.

well, just fish. what do you call a western omelette (with onions and green peppers) in the west? :-)

and yes, i did touch her. i've actually also literally bumped into her sister in new york once when we both lived there a couple of years ago. corner of prince and lafayette. she said sorry, i said hey, how's it going in swedish. she smiled and quickly walked away. :-)

Actually, we do call that type of omelette a "western omelette". Go figure!

damn. i did in fact ask a friend in los angeles before i wrote this, but i guess she's just not a huge omelette fan. ;-)

anyway, i know for a fact that danish pastries are called bread from vienna (wienerbrod) in denmark. what are they called in vienna?

If you ask for a danish here in the Midwest, they'll either give you a bear claw or a funny look.

it's not supposed to be interesting. it's supposed to be a nonsense thread about the princess of sweden, swedish fish and some cooking. :-)

people pointing out that a designated off topic thread is off topic is what's really interesting. ;-)
