I don't know if this is true but I have heard that some porn producers would shoot 10 feet of innocent footage, followed by 30 feet of porn, then another 10 feet of innocent footage. The idea was that the lab probably did not watch every frame of film they processed and the techs would most likely see only the head and tail of the reel.

I have tried this at snappy snaps. but my girlfriend was there in the seethrough envelope at the begining. embarring her she was paying. but i hope they didn't make copies.

A few years ago when I first started enquiring about buying a GS 1200 I looked a couple over at Lees cameras [now no-longer trading from High Holburn

].

I was advised then that many of them had been used in the porn cinemas of Soho during the 70s' and early 80s' and so had been thrashed, running loops for hours if not days on end. I was told to look out for these but was never sure how you would be able to tell if a GS 1200 had come from a porn cinema.

Some years later a friend of mine bought a GS 1200 from Ebay that had clearly led a very active life and was very worn, when he stripped it down to overhaul it he found several bits of very worn fragments of film in the bottom. The people in the film were in a state of [un]dress and such positions as would suggest that perhaps this had been one of those projectors.

If it could only talk.......

I found a piece of 5 frames of porno. i stuck it into a slide mount and made prints from it. i do this with lots of k40 pieces. making films and photos is my dream. would love to give up cleaning cafes. ninja

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I thought you might be interested
to know that Vancouver has one of the (if not the) last 35mm porno
theatres in the world, called appropriately enough The Fox. I'm sure they
have a DVD projector system for most shows now but once in a while they do retro nights and show stuff like Deep Throat. The last one I
heard of was a 3-D movie 8O In town there is a vintage porn enthusiast
who organizes these nights and apparently the theatre now has Chinese
owners who speak little English but he managed to talk his way into their
vault which is full of 35mm prints.

A friend of mine was organizing a public screening of one of his short
films and the same guy called him up and wanted to screen a montage
he made. Turns out it was something from a John Holmes movie. It would
show a few minutes of ECU sex then a few minutes of John's facial
expression, then switch back. My buddy said it was one of the most
shocking and hilarious things he has ever scene. The indy film crowd
apparently was splitting their guts with laughter.

Also for trivia in the original Get Carter, Micheal Cain's character
watches some S8 porno footage in a house.

I have a box of old porn reels in the basement from my college days.

Back in the 60's, they were surfacing up. I managed to get a few. I remember they used to go $100+ for one 400 ft reel of a dirty feature. 8O

Me and my college buddies would get an ice cooler full of beer, go to the secret place and play dirty movies on my Bell & Howell projector. I always pushed it as far as possible so the wall would be filled.

There was a nordic, swedish maybe, producer called "color climax" that did tons and tons of XXX short movies released on S8. I have to admit that it is how I discovered Super8 .... shame on me :oops:

Has anyone seen the 1960's fime "No Sex Please We're British" starring Ronnie Corbett where he inadvertently gets sent an enourmous consignment of porn on what looks like either 8 or 16mm.
