A word of Praise.

Post by Joe Gioielli »

I just wanted to publicly thank Martin Baumgarten for his assistance. I gave him a call regarding an old Revere Super8 and a roll of film I was given and the man spent a good half hour on the phone with me giving me advice on cameras, film, and film preservation.

And incase anyone was wondering, yes, Lemon "Pledge" works just fime as a film lube ;-)

Lemon Pledge?

Post by super8fireman »

Does this really work on lubing films and will it be safe? I know it would be a whole lot cheaper than the manufactured cleaners.

All Lemon Pledge aside,

Martin Baumgarten is one of theose people that has a real passion for small gauge film and is always willing to help other people. He's helped me a number of times and I appreciate it.

Even when Martin is ridiculously busy he will take time to email proper answers to questions.

A top bloke, as we say.

Martin processed my first documentary. The work was so good I gave him a film credit at the end. This film has been entered and shown in countless festivals and showings since. Martin is tops!

He has always been very polite and nice to me. Occasionally I have a question I can't find an answer to, and I email him. He always sends me a detailed reply. I know he is *very busy* so I try to not bother him and try to figure it out on my own.

No the Pledge didn't hurt the film at all. It runs a lot better, cleaned it very nicely as well.

As for how to contact, I just went to his website, got his phone number, and called him.

A great guy all around.
