Canon Wide Angle Lens swap (someone?)

Post by jhoneycutt »

I have a Canon C-8 Tele Converter 1.6x No. 52008 lens.

Super8man believes this is for a Canon Super8 model 514 camera. It has a metal ring on the rear of the lens with feet and meters marked on it, and a small cut out, and a screw to hold the lens in place. It comes with a metal Canon lens cap that says Canon on the front, and 80mm on the back.

The lens looks new to me. Not even any dust on it.

I would like to swap it with someone for the Canon Tele that was a optional lens for my Canon 1014XL-S.

If I can't find anyone to swap it with, I'll probably put it in the Classified after a while.

Drop me some email if you want to swap, or if you have the lens I am looking for and want to sell it, maybe we can work somehing out.

Jack,

You wouldn't happen to have a spare C-8 Wide angle 67mm lens would you? I'm having a hard time locating one. It's one thing to find one and grind ones teeth over the asking price but to not find one at all is worse.

I could have used one filming the kids in last weekends parade.

The hunt continues...

Did I hear my name???

Well, not exactly... If I read your post right, I think you have the teleconverter for the Canon 518 - not a 514 that's for sure. That's it. The Canon 518 is a pretty neat camera and is rather similar to the single 8 version of it judging from its relative skinniness and its style.

Here are a couple of links:
The 518_sv that takes the teleconverter mentioned above:

yup, I have an 518SV which I bought with the C-8 tele converter. At first glance, due to the size of it, I thought it was a wide angle converter, so I was kinda dissapointed when I actually read what it said :D but anyway, it's a cool thing to have, though I don't plan on using it much..

Last week I bought a Canon C-8 wide attachment 67 from super8 camera shop dot com. It was 125 EUR, and it's worth the price. Great lens, mint condition with 30 days money back guarantee.

Did Canon make a Single 8 camera???? I allways thought that Fujica was the only manufacturer...

Tirtia...

Yes, I did. The email that started this was very old.

I did have another canon lens in the past, but I gave it to a buddy who had a camera that could use it.

BTW, I am *very* happy with the lenses I got from you.

Not only Canon but Konica & Elmo as well. I found a Canon 518 at the flea market here in Hong Kong recently. What I thought was just another super 8 Canon 518 turned out to be a single 8 version upon closer inspection. I believe this particular model is rare, I never saw one on Ebay, and only found very few pics of it on the net.

Have to test it out soon, a Canon 518 with a real pressure plate, must deliver stunning sharp and rock steady images.

wide angle for canon814

Post by daddysauce »

Hi people, I'm also on the look out for a wide angle lens for my canon autozoom 814 - 58mm thread - does anybody know what the orginal part name was for it was ?

if there isnt any I'll maybe plump for the canon video WC DC58N wide converter lens. How have people found using video lens with super8?
I no zilch about lens - so any tips/feedback would be great! I'm guessing that if the optics are good enough for a PD150 or similar then I cant go far wrong.
