Stuck light meter battery compartment on canon zoom8eee

Hi All!

I have a great Canon zoom 8 EEE 8mm camera I'm trying to get working.

The little coin turned mercury battery compartment for the light meter is super stuck, I imagine by corrosion, as there was corrosion on the outside of the compartment.

Any ideas as to what I could use to un-stuck it?

Ya, I can use it in manual mode, I just want to open the battery compartment.
