Hello Again
Befor I order film i have to find out if the camera really works....when I click the master switch(and look into the cartridge chamber) what am i suppose to see?
does the circle(wheel) in the middle should be moving, because it doesn't...
Thanks again!
Mattan.
P.s
If i'm faking, and click on the triggers like there is a cartridge inside it gets noiser but nothing moves...
How do I know it works, befor i order film..

Tests for a S8 camera:
1. Insert batteries (and/or wind up). Set R/L switch to R. Press trigger. If these is a whirring sound, go to 2.
2. Open camera door. With camera open and lens pointing to your right, press trigger again. Does disc in centre of cassette space rotate. If so, look at gate (squarish hole about 6 mm across behind lens in cassette space). Just above it there should be a small slot. Press trigger again. A little peg should flash up and down in this slot. If so go to 3.
3. Test light meter. There should be either a pointer outside (older types) or a scale visible in the top of the viewfinder. Point the camera at light: does the exposure scale change? If so, using a light meter, or another camera with a good lightmeter, check readings. With no film in, the camera will assume the fastest film it can use, often 160 ASA.
If all these check out, get some film and give it a try.
Enjoy.
Tim.

Hi,this is the same camera that had plastic bits in the lens?.
I am 99% convinced that you have purchased a heap of rubbish to put it politely..I to once purhased a nizo 5, I was aware that it was faulty. The problem, when operating the trigger you can hear the motor running but nothing moves inside the camera.Does the pin move up and down in the gate?Anyway after taking the camera to bits I found the main drive belt to be streched,no tension on it.It looked a pig of a job to renew...As I only paid a £1.00 for it, it went in the bin...It was mint condition aswell.Reckon this is the problem with yours, and someone, before you purchased it had the camera apart, hence the plastic in the viewfinder. If you got the camera cheap, buy another....If you paid a lot, track down the seller.........

Hello again
the batteries are in, what is R\L??? right left?
the disc in the middle isn't rotating, don't know why...
when i point it to a light source nothing happens...
no light meter moving, nothing...
the only thing i see is two numbers next to the picture...
the film gate isn't blinking...
the only thing the is moving after i push a triger in the film chamber is somthing in the bottom and it is very niosy...
if you don't have any other suggestion, i guess i have nothing else to do but to open it again and see what i can fix...
Thanks a lot!

Ultimately until you put a film through it there is no certain way. If you already have a suoer-8 camera which you are using and know works then just try a couple of feet from the end. Swapping cartridges looses only a few frames.
I had a chaeap camera, everything seemed fine, but the film was dud. It was only when I took it apart I found the auto iris was screwed up. I actually fixed it, but in the process put the non zoom lense out of focus.
Conversley I acquired a couple of really cheap super-8s, non descript names, 2 to 1 zoom and no other controls. They both work fine, steady clear pictures.
In photography their is a lot of hype but remember it is the quality of the person behind the camera that is more important than the camera.

New web site and this is cine page http://www.picsntech.co.uk/cine.html
Hello, again,if the main drive band is stretched forget trying to replace it yourself, however I am sure that if power were getting into the camera the light meter should operate.R/L usually means running lock, the trigger release is locked in position of on..I would not waiste any film in the camera until that centre drive capstain is working. Although good advise of using the last few feet of a cartridge would be ideal.Does the battery compartment look as though its had battery leakage...Look for another camera.......
wait a minute
Listen,
I tried to operate it once again and the light meter moved(the thing in the viewfinder...so i guess somthing is moving there...
now i'm looking for a k40 to try...
Thanks

Hi, is this a Nizo 4080 or 6080, like in your picture? If so, they have notoriously dodgy light meters - don't get me wrong, these are my favourite cameras, and the light meters are great when they work, but I have heard some people say theirs don't work. Anyway, if you've got it to move, it's probably fine. When you press the trigger, the film transport mechanism sends the wheel in the film bay around, and the pin moves up and down next to the film gate, but it should be very quiet, compared to other super8 cameras. If not, then take it to an experienced repair shop.
