I picked up a working Canonet Standard 8 yesterday for 10GBP (16USD/EUR) but the meter battery is missing. A note in the case has on it:
Mallory M15R 1.5 volts Transistor Battery
Now I do not expect it still exists, but is there an equivalent that will do the job. I thought I wouls check before setting off to Maplins (UK electronics bits and bobs retailer)
I also have a Minoltina that I think takes the same battery, the one with relaodable cassettes for R8 film.
The Canonet is a really neat compact cine camera, but it seems to need a working meter as there is no obvious manual settings for the aperture.

625 is the one - thanks
625 is the battery that works. Much thinner than the original, but padding out with washers or compacted Aluminium foil does the trick.
Got one at Maplins so is obviously readily available.
