Just wondering. I'm cutting my film according to my edl. My edl is in frames. I have a super8 counter which measures in feet and frames. After 72 frames the counter ticks one foot. What I suddenly was wondering about was if the spaces in between the frames are calculated as well in one feet on the counter. It should be I think. I had my doubst because sometimes I get as a result say: 21 feet and 49,9 frames. I make that 50, but I shouldn't get decimals.
This is how I calculate: I divide the frame number by 72 then I get something like 227.30555. The figure before the point are the feet. After the point are not the frames but tenths and hundreds etc. of one foot. I multiply them by 72 (=1 foot)and then I get the frames (say if I have x.3333 I will have x feet and one third of 72 frames) O.k. never was good at math but I think this is correct. But how do I get the decimals then?????? Can someone explain???
If this makes sense to you at all..
feet and frames
