NYC Camera Repair Shops

Post by Ambervision »

I have a Canon 814 with a broken light meter (not exactly sure what the problem is). I've called a few shops and since I live in NYC thought, out of convenience, that Du-All Camera would be the easiest place to go.

Does anyone have any feedback/suggestions; another place/person to see, personal experience with Du-All's repair shop, etc.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ambervision

I've heard good things about Du-All and they certainly know their Super 8 cameras. The only thing is that it might be cheaper to find a replacement camera than to have your current camera repaired. The labor costs are always what kill you on Super 8 repairs.

I agree, ditch the camera, look around for a replacement,is it still usable in manual mode?..

Yes, I can use the light meter in manual mode.

Thanks for your help...I'm apprehensive about ditching the camera,...ahhhh!

I just received my camera back from Du-all for a complete overhaul of a Beaulieu 4008 ZMII. The camera came back with one problem that needed repair. They fixed the camera under warranty no problem. They are an excellent service center that does great work.
