good starter super 8 camera...
I am looking at some cameras on ebay, but I dont know much about them. What I want is a camera that has time laps. I like the canon 1014, but they are to high priced for me at this time. So, how about the 514 or 814? Do they have time laps?? I just need a camera that has some FX for filming. Thanks!!

This is a comprehensive list of the features available on just about every S8 camera ever made. It'll certainly help you find out whether a certain camera offers timelapse or not.

Bauer 709 XL, 715 XL, A 512, A 508 (prices are normally from 50 to 300 Euros at ebay.de) or Royal 6/8/10 (cheap ones, I bought one mint quality Royal 10 E macro at price 9 Euros from ebay.de). A512/508 and Royal models have also time exposure and variable shutter.
Porst 1500 (= Bauer 715), prices from 150 to 250 at ebay.de
Agfa Movexoom 6 or 10 (cheap ones, the prices normally are from 10-30 Euros at ebay.de)
Revue TM8 (= Eumig) , very cheap camera model, I have bought 3 of these nice little cameras from ebay.de, their prices were: 5, 6.5 and 10 Euros! This camera has also time exposure.

Jukkasil you should replace ebays post-unsuccesful-auction offer selection...
Personally I would not recommend to start with a Bauer-S715-like model. Question is also if you actually need an intervall timer for time lapse:

Slower frequency manual time lapse can also be achieve by employing the ubiquitious single frame function. Very many cameras have this feature even Canons (...haha Booster). I would recommend you to start for instants with a small, light and cheap Minolta Xl 401/601. Have fun...

I'll tell you one thing, I've used some of the most high end Super 8 cameras ever made - Canon 1014 Xl-S, Beaulieu 4008 ZMII etc. and I still love my Canon 514 XL. I know it doesn't really have a manual f/stop override and it lacks a 24fps setting but its image quality never ceases to astound me. It has one heck of a sharp lens, it's simple to use and very quick. I used it alongside a Beaulieu 6008S on a music video I shot recently and the footage was just as usable as that shot on the 6008S. Want an excellent beginner camera? Go for the Canon 514 XL or Canon 514 XL-S. They won't cost you a fortune and they won't disappoint you.
Hope this helped!

Well, again, thanks to all of you who have helped me out with this!!
I live in the US.
I would like lap disolves, but I think I can get the same effect with single frame?
My buget is VERY limited, about $70.00 tops!! Yea, I know.
Anyway, what I plan on doing..... I will post on this board when I get started... I want to make a film for my girlfriend, I want to film the clouds with the single frame, or the time laps... you guys know what Im talking about. Ill do other stuff aswell. Then I want to edit this film, Im hopeing to get at least 30 to 45 min of things filmed, and add music to it.... So, Ill let ya guys know what I get as far as a camera... Then take it step by step with ya!!

lap disolve is where two scenes are mixed, one fades away, while the other fades in...you see it all the time on tv..
If your final film is to be shown on film and not transferred to video, any disolves must be done in camera...
As regards to time lapse almost any camera will do it,you can buy a very basic camera, sit it on a tripod and use its single frame facilty to create the effect you require, this means you have to sit by the camera and operate the single frame with a remote, very boring...You should be able to purchase a camera in your price range with an intervalometer built in,dont forget to use a tripod....good luck
