Hi anyone got a good used canon xl1 forsale.
Im looking around.
I am thinking of selling my Beaulieu 4008 or use it as a trade toward a xl1.
Anyone interested.

noone has one of these cameras.
What about a Gl1 or GL2 that they want to get rid of?

For some on this site what you're asking for is like asking for pork scratchings in a Jewish vegetarian restaurant. Keep the Beaulieu and buy 50 rolls of film and a minidisc recorder dude.

You don't have to feed it or pay it rent so now that it have it--It costs you nothing.

As for the XL1. Buy one if you want one--I suggest buying a body only with a fully manual lens. Meaning no Servos or power options at all. Then you will have a lot more control over the image. I shot a doc on the XL1 and I hated the lens. Canon then fixed the major problems in the XL1S--It still does not have direct zoom and direct focus.

Something like it would be perfect. The thing is--By the time you set up an XL1s with everything you need to get it Pro. You could have bought a 16mm.

And this fact cannot be over-emphasized. You'll sink $6000 into a system like that, and for the same amount you could likely have a very good 16mm camera, a couple of 400' mags, a killer tripod, and maybe even some basic sound gear.

Digital technology changes rapidly, requires major capital, and is "depreciated" when a superior technology comes along. Tape formats could even be forced into obsolescence on a mere whim from Canon, Sony, et al.

Speaking for myself, I'll avoid buying a DV-cam of any variety (and I've used a lot of them) until I am as wealthy as Croesus. I prefer rental for digital stuff. For what you'd pay for a "pro" XL1S rig, you could rent a cutting-edge HD rig for a long time. You could rent an XL1S setup for even longer. Of course if you don't have rental houses nearby, you're likely out of luck.
