I was thinking about shooting some super 8 while recording double-system sound. Since the Canon 1014 XL-S is a sound recording camera, I was wondering if it's engineered to be quieter than the silent Canon 1014.
The two 1014 models have the features I want, but market value for an XL-S is about double that of the silent model. Of course I don't plan on recording on mag sound film anyway, so the quietness of the camera is really the issue for me. Is there anything else I should know? Is the lens better on the XL-S? Is the sound sync system worth bothering with?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Adam
Is the Canon 1014 XL-S quieter than 1014?

The 1014e produces absolutely gorgeous images but it's fairly noisy, I presume the 1014XLS is quieter but never having used one I couldn't say for sure. Every time the question of quiet cameras comes up the top of the range Nizo sound cameras always seem to come very highly recommended as the quietest cameras available. I doubt if even a barney could muffle the 1014e sufficiently for sync sound shooting.
