Just a quick two novice questions

Post by daveyboy »

hiya guys i just wondering about two things.
1) i don't seem to be able to find a counter on my Bell and Howell Super8 Camera anywhere. It's not on little window showing the film or on the side or anything. However i'm told that there has to be one somewhere? - does anyone have any ideas where it might be, or how i can tell when my films run out.
2) Is there anyway of telling whether the film has been properly exposed as i brought it off ebay and don't have a projector yet so i wonna make sure the Camera works alright.
Can i see the picture in strong light on the negative, i don't think i can can i? - what about a magnifing glass?
Thanks for your help.

What model? And your film would say "exposed" when it is exposed.

yes, you can see the picture on the negative using a magnifing glass.

Hi, It will say exposed on the actual film when the cart reaches its end. Take the cart out of the camera, if it doesn't say exposed there is still film left. taking the cart out of the camera doesn't wreck what you've shot it just whites out the few frames that are currently exposed through the hole in the cart. The picture below shows the area you are looking at:

About the film counter - usually there will be something saying 0-50 indicating how many feet of film are left, maybe there isn't a counter on your camera. good luck,
