Additionally, Baraka was shot in 40 countries. It would be good if we could include 40 countries in our film!

From http://www.spiritofbaraka.com/baraka.aspx

"Ron Frickes visual masterpiece, released in 1992, 93 minutes.
An incredible journey through 6 continents, 24 countries. Painstakingly shot on Todd AO-70mm film.
Created by Ron Fricke and Mark Magidson, with music from Michael Stearns and others."

Last year we were from 13 countries.

On the way to Austrialia next Saturday yipieeee, but Im thinking as I stop of in France and Singapore on my way to Sydney and back through Brisbane I might do something in each of these places. Does anyone know if its an issue to film in and around airports in the current climate?

But the idea is to do everything on may the 22nd, right? Surely you won't be in all these places on that day? I don't know if there's any flexibility as far as submitting footage not shot on the timelapse day. Cheers,

I am in again, but I agree with Vidwerk: we should set some paramaters about what is shot. Not on content necessarily, but just generally I think. Weather was an issue for some participants last year, including me, and may be the case again, but still we need parameters I think.

Weather certainly was an issue last year. I find May too unpredictable for weather. I hope it doesn't rain again this year. Actually, many contributors around the world experienced rain during the last project.

Rain could make things more interesting, however.

I wasnt really refering to the time lapse project. I was just wondering will I have problems using a film camera in airportd given recent security issues. I know in Dublin if you want to film in say a shopping center for example you need permission from the security staff.

There was a post about shooting at train stations which might be of interest.
Good luck.

It would have been nice to have seen last years project before this years project date came around. I'd like to see some sort of guideline that people can read and follow posted soon. Need to order some film if I plan to participate. Any thoughts on doing a similar project later in the year, but with different guidelines, like a strictly cultural, geographical, or some type of location based film that is not timelapse. I'm thinking august, september, october. Not meaning to change the subject, but would like to see a dicussion on another form of project planned well ahead. Something with more time options in case of bad weather, or in the case of an event someone wishes to film that does not happen on a given day. Maybe a sign up sheet for specific dates for filming, so it would be every day for a month there is something different filmed from a different place by two or three different people. Might be interesting. Hope to be able to participate this year. It is a busy time of year here though, but hopefully I can do something. I think that's what happened last year, too many emergencies happened that particular day.
