Sending a Beaulieu by mail

Post by Patrick »

There is a chance that I may be getting hold of a Beaulieu super 8 fairly soon, depending on the price. Anyway, the seller lives interstate and will obviuosly have to send it over to me. I have heard from someone on this forum once saying that when sending these cameras by postal mail, it is best to have the lens removed. Is this true? I guess it would be considering what I have heard about c-mount lenses - they are pretty flimsy aren't they? What would be used then to cover the gaping hole in the camera body's lens mount so that this is protected? The same for the lens if this does not have a rear lens cap?

better send it with separated lens. The body could be protected with a kitchen plastic wrap film or a plastic bag, if possible evapurated or with silica gel. The lens, too. The back lens could be protected with the cap of a plastic bottle.
