I know someone in wonderland can help me out with this.

Im going to order some vision 200 next week and I don't want to go with pro8mm if I don't have to.
Thanks

Where do you live? This is an Intenational site, based in Scandinavia.

Hi.

If you're in the US, Forde ( http://www.fordelabs.com ) now process super8 color negative for $12 a roll. Combine that with the cost of ordering Vision 200T from Kodak and you should save quite a few dollars compared to pro8mm. Check out http://www.thetransferstation.com for well priced Rank transfers.

Forde is also selling 200T with processing included for $31 per roll. They will do Video Prep for 7 rolls & splice 12 ft. of leader head & tail on a 400' rreel ready for Flying Spot to transfer to Video. One Light transfers for this amount are $150 to the tape format of your choise mini DV, DVCam, BetaSP or DigiBeta. To transfer to High Definition HDCam its $250. Tape Stock is extra & they prefer that you supply the stock.

i use Forde a lot for my VNF and B&W's. they do excellent work. i'd process 200T there if or when i decise to use it, but someone posted here that its cheaper to buy the raw stock from Kodak.. how much does Kodak charge per roll of 200T? does Flying spot use a Rank? think they just tweek it somehow. and 7 rolls will cost roughly $200 to transfer? i'm shooting a concert again next month, will probably use VNF and TRI X but considering the 200T if i can figure out the cost.

I'm in Vancouver. Kodak Canada sells the 200T stock for $18.33. I suspect you can get it for a few buck less than that in the U.S. So if you order directly from Kodak you should be able to save a bit over what Forde is charging.

The Flying Spot Scanner that Flying Spot uses is a Thompson Shadow. It's a similar machine to a Rank.
