Beaulieu 4008 modifications

Post by Mystic Mot »

I have a Beaulieu 4008zm that I want to change tne battery powering : link my self-made NiMH battery to my camera by an audio jack on the bottom and put off the little handgrip ( like pro8' classic cameras ).

But I need first to disassemble the camera, and I have no idea how can I do.

Do someone knows how to disassemble or were I can find information about ?

Not quite sure what you're trying to do, but there have been posts reguarding the dismantling of the beaulieu 4008 (from the manual) and self tests. not recomended to butcher the camera but, The camera has 4 screws in the hand grip, one large screw holding the handgrip to the body, 2 screws in the fronts of the camera, one in the rear (left one), next to the charge jack, several screws in the film chamber, the ground glass knob, the nuts that go over the back plug ins, the gate screws and the filter extended screw in the bottom of the body. removing the film door screw is optional, depending of knowledge of what removes from where.
I dont see what pr08mm did to make an on/off switch, i.e. to replace the one that was removed when the handgrip was removed. the camera has to be off, in order for the on board battery to be charged.

Hello.

Search the archives of this forum: there is a long thread, I think from last year, about disassembly of the 4008.

You may check out this one for de-&re- assembly:
http://www.8mm.filmshooting.com/scripts ... t=beaulieu

However, do not follow any lube instructions in this post. You will need original Beaulieu instructions or simply send your cam to Björn Andersson in Sweden for professional servicing.
