I remember we talked about you sending me the beam splitter but I never followed up. If you want to send me the parts I could install them. If I got it working perfectly and did a test shoot I would have to charge a little more for the camera obviously. I don’t think I will be able to get the meter working in any event so keep that in mind. I originally bought the camera as a source for parts if my 4008ZMII ever needed them. Then I thought it would be cool to paint it after seeing the pictures of the ones you did. It all came out nicely except when I put the 2 halves camera back together the paint was not fully cured (I waited 3 days) and there is some chipping close to the seam. Not too bad but not perfect either. I was just setting up to take a picture to upload and my battery died in my digital camera. I will charge it up and post pix tomorrow.

disjecta: thank you for the compliments on the demo reel. i didn't edit it, matt did(one of the other directors). that kid is a freaking final cut guru. final cut and photoshop were only programs used in making that demo reel....no, we didn't use after effects (this has actually shocked people that we made it without AE).

alfred ... that looks like a nice camera .. and for $80.00 it would be hard to go wrong.
in order of fairness, next week after i move into my new office and have all my things organized, i will snap some photos of all my beaulieu s8/16mm parts that i no longer need, including prisms, and post them on ebay with no reserve and $1,00 starting bids. if warranted, you cna purchase the prism and work out a dela with paul to install it. it takes at least 2 hours to install one, usually longer because it takes some time to put those darn cameras back together ... but nothing too costly.

thank you very much the both of you for your offers. i am going to really consider purchasing that camera. the only concern i have is that the light meter doesn't work. there is no way to fix that? i know that is it always better to use an external light meter but those are a little pricey and i am just starting shooting super 8.
paul: do you have the original lens also? also does it shoot 24 or 25 fps?

paul ... those little cameras are not as easy as they look in terms of painting them and putting them back togehter ... no matter how dry the paint is. i purchased a powdercoating gun a couple months back and have not got around to using it yet ... but i am going to pain one with the black crinkle powder coat and then bake it for 30 minutes in the oven ... the paint should not scratch, peel, crack, nada.
the toughest part about painting these little cameras with typical car paint is when putting them back together ... the pressure one must apply to the body when reassembling them causes problems with the paint ... it took me a few paint jobs and reassemblies before i got it right. and then it took a few more before i got a perfect finsih and the correct coats on there. i was using a regular paint gun ... i now have an airbrush with differant tips and bottles, and again ... once i have the time, i will put it to the test ... i figured i would powdercoat with a black crinkle finish, and then use the airbrush to make a cool custom design ontop. naturally, dont have time to even take these out of their boxes ... but one day

paul - if the other guy doesnt buy the 2008, I am interested in it. I have a spare light meter and viewfinder for the 2008 to repair it. You can keep the lens, though.
question about the battery - is it a recell?
Thats not the original battery thaw was sold with the 2008. It looks bigger.
I don't have a charger for it. Since I am throwing the lens in for free you have the option of not getting it if you don't want it but the price will be the same. You would save a little on shipping. The battery is included and has been recelled with NiMh cells.

two last questions for you:
1. are the battery and charger included in that $80
2. if i didn't want the lens would you know the price down a bit?
