music for film

Hey all my first post here, I will be honest i know nothing really about film i am a sound guy who records bands and my own music in my basement. However i have always been interested in all aspects of recording so if anyone is making a movie and might possibly need some music for it or what have you let me know. I could try and come up with something interesting that may fit a film your working on. I will be honest in saying i dont knwo to much about thinking music to film but at least this way you could have some music to work with and choose from.

What kind of music do you compose?

Well to be honest with you mostly ive been writing my own music which has mostly consisted of rock music. Im looking into broadening my horizons and challenging myself to try and compose music that would fit the soundtrack for certain films or commercial slots I would half to say i would be interested in composing music for Horror films probably the most right now, but am willing to at least give anything a shot. I know im nothing amazing as im just starting to look into this but i figure we all have to start somewhere and why not here.

Are you a keyboard player, guitarist, etc.? Home studio?

I think a good start would be to post some examples of what you have done. That would give people a sense of what to expect. What about a Web site?

Um I am a guitarist, who also can play a little piano. My main thing is yes i have a home studio that i do everything in as i said before so far i have only recorded rock bands. This band here recorded with me and hopefuly gives you an idea of what kinda sound im capable of getting http://www.angelfire.com/band/thelatenights/. As for a website its in the works im currently writing my own music now that im hoping people will be interested in most of the other bands i have recorded do not have mp3's up however if you would like a demo cd that coudl probabyl be aranged.

You are very welcome. I am a musician myself (piano, synth, organ, etc.) and I'm going to start composing my own soundtracks in the coming year or so (I'm in the midst of finishing a house I'm building and want to set up a full editing/recording suite). I'm not going to sell my services, though, this is just for my own projects.

Yea i hear ya there i probably should build up a library somewhat before i start offering my services and everything but i figured getting my name out there couldnt hurt. If you ever want to collaborate on something maybe let me know.
