When using Beaulieu 2008 or 4008 in MANUAL MODE (do not have original lens), the lightmeter pointer indicates under exposure as soon as the camera takes pictures. It is the same symptom like on my K3, which is a fully manual construction. After setting the correct exposure (motor is not running yet), the lightmeter pointer shows under exposure of 1 stop as soon as the motor has started. The reason is that the CDS cell is situated behind the mirror shutter which cuts down light when rotating.
Does somebody know what is the correct exposure setting mode with whis cameras? Set the exposure when camera is running, or set it when camera is stoped?
As I only do b/w films with home processing, I can not determine the correct way setting the exposure with this cameras by trial. Slight variations in exposure also are caused by processing the films myself.
Thanks for your suggestions/experiences.

Lightmeter reading with mirror shutter

With mirror shutter cameras you set the exposure before rolling and ignore the fluctuation of the meter pin while the shutter is moving up and down; it is only the closing of the shutter (cutting out the incoming light while shooting ) that is causing the fluctuation, but the light reading should still be correct.
