I run into situations where I go out and film something, but only use about half the roll. What is the best way to store this film? Put the camera in the fridge? Rewind the film noting how many feet you shot, then reloading it and hoping you don't double expose anything? i shoot with an Arri S shooting 100 ft. rolls?
thanks.

Super 8 is so much easier to deal with when you only shoot half a roll.
I'm already shooting slow-motion. I'm shooting snowboarding, and sometimes you go out and just shoot one trick, or get kicked out of places before you've shot the whole roll.
I guess sitting around for a week or two won't affect the film much if its in a cool place.

the unexposed part will hold up just fine for quite a while.. the exposed material should be processed as soon as possible, specially if it's high asa film, but a few days (or even weeks) wont hurt a lot... specially when kept reasonably cool and dry (avoid the fridge for the cameras sake though)
I'm not sure about 16mm, but I've left super 8 film in my camera for almost 2 months before finsihing a roll. I've also had exposed cartridges sitting around for 4 months (waiting to send a bunch at one time) and they came back fine. I shoot mountain biking so I'm sure we're in the same situations. I do plan to move on to 16mm this year though, so tell me how things work out please!
I hoped someone would ask this question. Been thinking of the same thing myself as I also film alot of snowboarding and very often you dont use the whole film at once.
