My first Cinemascope (2.66) shooting test!

That's right!

I just bought Proskar Ishiko 2x anamorphic lens from ebay and
received it from UK two days ago.

I'm planing to start shooting test footage soon with my Leicina Super Rt.
At the first I have to design universal support for that lens and Bauer (A 512) mattebox same time in the same camera.

I already found out yesterday, I can use the part of my old Meopta photo enlargement machine to make suitable support for that lens/matte box-combination.

Basically I have planned to test both super 8 and mini dv camera to get more information, which is possible and isn't.

I already made one very primitive test with my mini-dv camera (Sony PC-100). I used tripod holding the Am-lens in the front of videocamera, here are the result I get:

Don't care about image quality, it's shot with mini dv and we had very ugly weather during my test shooting. I don't want to burn any super 8 film to these kind of tests.

At the first I have to make that lens support, then I'll shoot also with my Leicina and I'll put some better looking examples to my net-server.

So, the final aspect ratio is 2.66:1. I used Canopus Video Doctor Tools to scale image to the right ratio.

At the bottom of page you'll find two video mpg-files (both 3 Mbytes) containing both unscaled and scaled versions of same material.

Hmm.... if you had time to rise your head from the Workprinter thing now and again you´d probably see the light snow covering the mountain tops behind you too.

At least it is like that around here at the close lower mountain areas like Norefjell I think: Guess you have tested your boards there? Drove past that area yesterday, see? Not suitabele for "SKIboarding" yet of course.

Yes, that's right, two weeks ago we had + 17 degree and one week ago we really get the first snow! After that we have had from -5 to -2 degree every day and that first snow haven't gone, it's still out there and I live at the southern side of Finland!

So, you took the first unscaled image and put it into the third image with black at the top and bottom.
Shouldn't that one have been the second image that was stretched out to a normal image???
Why cut the top and bottom off the squashed one??
Just wondering.

my guess it was to show how much information you lose by cropping...

Just like Mattias wrote here. I had to make this 3rd image only cause one guy from Finland doesn't understand my idea. So, these two first images are the real ones, 3rd one is only example, how much information you'll loose, if you crop your normal 1.33 image.
