Just curious...anyone see the 2002 Video Music Awards on MTV

This is a simple and quick question (if it hasen't already been posted)

What the heck was the 2002 Video Music Awards on MTV shot on? If I'm not mistaken I think it was shot on film, maybe 35mm ? Maybe I could be losing my eye for good imagery but I sware it doesn't look like video. Is HD really making an impact here or was this show done on film? Or am I just a complete idiot and the whole thing was on standard television production video? Please inform me if you know.

24p HD down-converted to 29.97 NTSC.

He's right, it was 24P HD, but it was a little more "stuttery" than normal because they supposedly ran a faster 1/60th shutter speed to synchronize with the monitors in the background.
