Hi there,

Remember my posting on "how good does the Pinnacle Studio DC10+ work"? Well, having mostly good experience as reactions I decided to buy one second hand. I already had an old 8mm Sony camcorder of which only the video part works (which is all you need!). After tough negociations with my PC I got the card to work (appeared to be a conflict with my TerraTec sound card).

It is a beauty! The image quality is more than OK for NLE work, experimenting with the edit work on your shots, repeat over and over again until you have a nice looking edit. You get an edit list in timecode from the software as a bonus, so last stop is behind the good old viewer and splicer. But now, you are sure you will have a good looking final movie for screening.

See ftp://ftp.filmshooting.com in the upload/videos directory and look at FoFRalley2002*.mpg. The film is shot using a new russian Quarz 1xS8-2 and an old K40 cartridge, free hand shooting.
